Eto MFI ko kahit anong itsura pa gawin consistent na ang superb quality. Eto kasi pang experiment na deck ko lang sana pero it end up na maging substitute na deck ko. Check nyo lang pictures simple palang hardware nyan kasi oorder palang ako nang bagong trucks and wheels na babagay sa MFI. A MFI deserves to be pampered si il be the first one to do it and will give a review once i acquired hi end hardwares.
History:
Well first of all I'm Lance Pintacasi forum name is EDGE kung mahilig ka mag browse baka nakita mo na pics ko dito and posts ko. A little history lang i started playing serious fingerboard July of 2009 til now, di naman ako magaling technically but scientifically i know how a fingerboard works from inside out. Il try to be objective with this review ha ayoko maging biased. Dati puro techdeck lang ako then i started using Railwood Deck aminin natin yung "new mold" nila eh maganda naman talaga ang feel sakto concave nya pero nung nakatry ako nang DFB nagulat ako lahat nang mga tricks ko mas madali ko na eexecute tapos sinabi ko kay Gary yun napikon sya hahaha. And then dun nag start yung urge ko na hanapin yung deck na para sa akin (for me that's the best thing to do wag kayo maniniwala sa sasabihin nang iba na ok to kesa dito lahat naman kasi subjective pag dating dyan kasi gamayan nang deck yan, kaya madami kami mold hehe) nag pagawa ako nang 7 ply which is really a joke ang tigas nung deck pero walang pop to this day natatawa ako bat ko naisip ipagawa yun, nag pagawa ako nang solid na zebrano pangit parin, maple and walnut na wide medyo ok pero wala parin pop, metal bottom may konting pop. Never ako nasatisfy tapos sometime last december kumuha ako sa competitor nang deck mas superior siya talaga kesa sa railwood...
Then one day i was offered to be a part of a new brand di pa siya MFI nun dami kami naisip na brand name, pero lam nyo walang bola this time hinaluan namin nang science. Alam natin na madaming taong ma google lang pero in our case kasi nirefer ko to sa mga friends ko na nag wwork sa chemical factory, friend ko na engineer, saka sabi nga ni Sir Jojo sleepless nights kasi pati siya nag reresearch din and isa sa pinaka pinag mamalaki naming ingredient eh 5 skater at pro fingerboarder ang hinihingan namin nang feedback trial and error din kami. (Il get into details later)
Seconds turned into hours, hours turned into days and then days turned into weeks nang maperfect namin yung deck namin. Series 2 came, prototype palang grabe kickass na then gumawa kami nang para sakin na signature series kasi nameet na niya specifications and preference ko at nung 5 riders namin And grabe nung natapos yung akin honestly its an accident may procedure kaming nadiscover na kayang gawing hardbottom yung deck literal na laminated. When series 2 came taas noo ko na nasabi sa sarili ko at sa ibang tao na maganda na ang deck namin... Eto itsura nung MFI ko 5 months ko na todong trinathrash yan pero check nyo itsura...
Well tingin ko mas mahaba history kesa sa review ko hehehe. Ano ba hinahanap natin sa deck? Eto opinion ko lang to ha kung may mag rereact gawa nalang kayo sarili nyong review.
*Precision Handcrafted Decks - We use precision tools for consistent performance di yung nachambahan lang ang deck na may malakas na pop. Kaya namin ulit ulitin in my MFI's case i have 2 identical woods ha not design same performance...
*You can distinguish the nose from the tail, try mo deck ko pag yung position nung fingers mo eh sakto sa nose and tail i mean kung di naka baliktad yung deck ang dali at ang ganda nang flip nung deck.
*Carefully designed and measured for consistent feel and easier catch. Yung shape nang deck namin di namin ginaya sa iba yan taliwas sa sabi nang iba kung alam nyo lang kung paano shinishapre ang isang MFI kaya consistent kicks nito. Lupit pa nang concave tamang tama lang.
*The weight can be adjusted to the riders preference.
*Water Proof!!! - Kasi sa finishing namin sealed po ang wood tingnan nyo deck ni lawi nalabhan na di nasira.
*Medium Kicks - Napaka daling iflip unlike pag hi kicks medyo mag eeffort ka pa.
*Strong Pop as in malakas talaga. For me kasi ang key to a strong pop is a good tape tuning and wheels. Pag naka griptape ka compare mo sa neotape mas malakas pop nung deck nung naka neotape, tapos pag TD wheels compare mo pag naka bearing wheels ka mas malakas yung pop. I think nasa roll kasi nung deck less friction so mag may bwelo yung deck di mo yan pansin pero its a factor para sa pop nang deck.
*Consistent Ply Colors - Well tingnan nyo nalang itsura nang plies nang mfi malinis and makinang yung colors di sya nag ffade.
*Durable - Been thrashing my deck for almost 6 months na still works perfectly.
That's a short review of my MFI deck... As for the neotape the latest batch is far the greatest neotapes ever produced. It doesn't stick to your fingers it also doesn't slip during aerial maneuvers, its thin and best of all affordable...
